Introduction

Head1.jpg

I’m Trey Burk, and my portfolio is a representation of all that I’ve accomplished and learned during my tenure as an Honors

student at Minot State University. As a Professional Communication student nearing the end of his degree at MSU, I look forward to entering the marketing field for the entertainment industry. I hope to succeed in my field and work with big companies such as Disney or Nintendo.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I seek to exemplify its values and morals through my works

and actions. The Church has taught me to be kind, respectful, humble, obedient, helpful, and thrifty. I seek to live through these values, and while I am not perfect, what matters is my determination to do what is right. I am self-driven to help others and be a motivator for others when there isn’t one.

Within this portfolio, I will share with you the concepts I’ve learned over the course of my experience within the Honors

program. The first concept to be discussed is how I thought critically, reflectively, and independently in my Honors classes. Second, I will discuss the concept of exhibiting a commitment to community awareness through volunteer service. Third, I will demonstrate my excellence in verbal and written communication through sharing Honors projects I’ve worked on in the past. Last, I will exemplify my experience of engaging with diverse perspectives through my written works.
